Well, as they say, DREAMS TO COME TRUE and every ambition starts with a dream.

Our Kit Club Kit of the Month Programme will be offering kits with a twist. Often included in the kits will be vintage and one-of-a-kind products which you cannot find anywhere else. Also included with these kits will be sketches by our Design Team and some ideas on how to use the kits will be in our gallery. Ideas on how to use the kit will be posted in our gallery as well. We believe in making scrapbooking and affordable and our kits will always be in the RM50 range.

"Hi, I'm Rachel, stay at home Mum to two very energetic kids, Aaron (3 years)
and Maddison (1 year) and wife to Lyndon of 13 years. We moved to KL from New
Zealand in November 2007. I started card making with rubber stamps in the late
90's and scrapbooking has evolved from that. I used to put my photos into my own
bound black page albums for a number of years, but "proper" (if there is such a
thing) scrapbooking was something I started around 2002/2003. In the last 4
years I haven't been able to scrapbook as much as I would have liked, so this
year I have enjoyed scrapping again and making small inroads into the
mountainous pile of photographs I have waiting to be scrapped. The kids, family
events and everyday life is what I tend to scrap and I would say my scrapping
style is whatever I feel like at the time :-) I feel very honoured and excited
to join the DT at Scrap-n-Crop and am looking forward to the challenges ahead
:-)

Well, when the boxes arrived at the doorstep and I was ticking it off against the invoice, I couldn't help but think, "When is this going to end?". It was back breaking work and having moved them over the weekend I now understood the hoo-haa (protest) my sister was going about when she first stacked them up to our very own Petronas wannabe-Bazzill twin towers that was taller than me!

Looking back, it's probably a GREAT move on my part of indiscretion and getting carried away, since Bazzill prices has gone up and the ringgit has weaken against the green back.

So, all this can only mean one thing to all the supporters of Scrap-n-Crop.com:

Given that it is a crazy 14 feet tower of Bazzill, I think I'll be listing it by colours - since I have enough shades and texture per colour to keep me busy.

It is probably a bad idea to blog about the 'store' updates especially when I took annual leave today! LOL

OK. It's pretty amazing how many things were actually cramped into my little store (and stairway and entrance)... I find it unbelievable and as we sorted them, recount stocks and displayed them some hard hitting facts were unearth:

there goes ALL my salary and savings
darn! I thought I lost those items and cancelled the sale
what?!? There's still 12 of them? errr... another 12 is arriving any day soon
I am seriously in need of rehabilitation
I am blessed to be married to a down to earth husband who not only puts up with my silly pretty purchases, but takes over all the practical purchases - got us pantry supplies, bar fridge, spare bulbs, cleaning supplies ...et cetera! And oh, he's fantastic at fixing furniture too.

So, here's some updates:

We are almost there. Just a couple more trips (minus the PP which we are still waiting for the paper tray arrivals from the USA).

I've got to find 4-5 men to help me carry a book shelf my husband installed flat on the floor. A lying book shelf on the floor is literally a white elephant - not to mentioned its size and colour - huge and white!

I can use 250 hooks in 5 hours. I bought the store out of display hooks! I've to wait 8 days for them to remake the hooks.

My in-house camera person (sister) is down with the ankle the size of an elephant - so no photos, sarcasm and humour.

We have got pantry supplies, bar fridge, spare bulbs, cleaning supplies ...et cetera!

We made RM 80 from selling our carton boxes!!! (this also translates to the amount of things I have; just like those shopping vouchers you get from Metrojaya or Isetan equals how much you have spent in the past!)

OK. Back to reality. Packing stuff to ship out and off to bed - got to go to work tomorrow. :(

"I am Huzaifah a.k.a. Ifa ( pronounced eefa ). I am Malaysian and long term resident in the UK, having met Alistair at university many years ago. We have two boys Jaspar and Hamish. We live in a beautiful village near Peterborough. It is a complete change in scenery for us, after 20 years in London. I design and write computer program; I know if I tell you designing a computer program is very much like designing a layout, you wouldn't believe me.
We love travelling and the most exotic location we have visited so far is Angkor in Cambodia. Besides scrapbooking I am also a gardener. So it is no surprise that you will find my scrapbooks filled with pages about my family, my travels and my cottage garden.

Ranger Aridondack Pigment Ink

Ranger's latest ink pads are the pigment inks that coordinate with Ranger's entire Adirondack product line and are also available in half ounce reinkers.

Whats the difference between their earlier dye pads and this pigment pads?

Pigment ink pads have slightly longer drying period as it air dries on matte papers and other surfaces and leaves behind a vibrant and rich, opaque color. And because they are juicier, these are the perfect choice for embossing! According to the directions, they can also be heat set on glossy paper, vellum, shrink plastic, metal and glass.

The Adirondack color palette includes a coordinating light, bright, and earthtone shade of the same color, allowing for amazing shading and depth in stamped projects. There are six families of color (blue, yellow, green, purple, red and pink) plus pitch black and snow cap white for a total of 20 colors. Scrap-n-Crop has ALL THE COLOURS! Not only can you use these inks in their color families, but the tones (lights, brights and earthtones) also all coordinate.

Each case comes with a tight fitting lid and another plastic cover on the inside directly over the ink pad itself to help keep it from drying out. The pads have a raised foam surface that holds the ink above the case for easy direct-to-paper applications and to keep your fingers as clean as possible. The cases are black plastic making it a clear distinction from the dye ink pads which are a light tan color. The label on the top of the case is the color of the ink and the name is printed in clear block letters too. The bottom label states the color name and features of the ink. All of the cases are stackable and are actually made to fit neatly together when stacked to prevent them from falling over.

How Could I Go On Holiday?

Thank you all for your warm wishes for Bryant...We are all so touched by everyone's thoughts and well wishes....

However, as I ponder on what to bring for this trip, I cannot help but think, what if we go away for 2 weeks or longer??? We managed to rush out all the final shipments today, so everyone should be getting them by tomorrow...

Also, just to let you know, we also released the Challenge 7 questions early so everyone can digest and digress before I leave. Coincidentally this is the 4th of July weekend so I know many abroad will be away, some told me they will bring along scrapping supplies, so I hope releasing the challenge early helps!

Another item that came out early is our Thursday Thrill...a day early, so ask away as I am still around today!

and FINALLY, just to let you know, we will be scheduling releases over the next few days. They will be on auto-load, if you have questions, don't fret...I'll be back by Saturday night to answer them all...

This posting is to help my friend sell some children's books. Not just any kind of books, but quality books printed in Singapore (NOT some sweatshop in China) on recycled paper.

Random Act of Kindness

I now truly understand Random Acts of Kindness, no its not those pieces of papers or a scrapbooking kit you give away, but rather the selfless act by a random stranger. I thought I have to share this as time and again when I get inspirational emails or RAKs, I cant help but have this strange feeling that indeed, one small deed, we can change the world, well...maybe not the world but it does make a difference.

A new customer whom I have "met" over the phone offered me and Bryant a place to stay in Singapore when we will be going there for treatment. Now that is what I call RAK. No questions asked...I am indeed touched and although the day started badly, after that it didnt matter anymore. Why worry about office politics or material possessions? It is meaningless...

And today I received another email from another customer offering to help spread the word...it is indeed instances like this that keeps me going...SCRAPBOOKING helped me get through the worst of times, and I hope by making it affordable we can in turn help others. We would also like to help in terms of employment and we are looking for a new forum moderator. So if anyone knows of anyone who can "contribute" to our site and has lost a job because of a special need child, we welcome them with open arms!

was this week's challenge for us.

Scrap-n-Crop.com joined Datin Catherine Lai to bring awareness about craft, charity and the environment.

Working around the theme RE-STORE, we demonstrated how old stuff, recycle-able items and scraps can be used to make beautiful projects and gifts that will last a lifetime.

More importantly, we highlighted how something as simple as craft can bridge the gap between women and assist those in need; both in terms of employment for stay @ home moms with kids with cerebral palsy as well as the women in the Ti Ratana home - Outreach Programmes which Scrap-n-Crop.com and Datin Catherine Lai passionately champions.

This time around we went green for World Environment Day while fund raising for the Ti Ratana Welfare Home; a centre for abused, abandoned, runaway, homeless and under privilege women.

Fiona Carter, DT for Maya Road is our Guest DT of the month! What perfect timing as everyone is goo-goo-gaa-gaa over Maya Road right now! FIONA CARTER lives on Sydney's north shore with her husband,Paul, daughters Emily and Phoebe and bunnies Bubbles and Butterscotch...

"My interest in crafts goes way back to my childhood. The crafts I dabbled with were many and varied, but a constant interest in "cutting and pasting" was evident - anything that included papers, pens, pencils and creative lettering always grabbed my attention. As a little girl, I would beg my mum to buy me new pencils, pens and sketchbooks so I could draw and sketch. I am still in possession of some of those sketchbooks and I treasure them.

In 2000, I was introduced to scrapbooking through a friend. I was hooked! I loved he concept of scrapbooking, recording the story of my family's lives in such a creative way. My interest in scrapbooking grew quickly and my first scrapbooking layouts were published within a year of starting this wonderful craft.

I love telling a story of my layouts. I use a combination of alot of photos of our everyday life with journalling to tell the tales of our family. The majority of my layouts are event driven. I feel I am able to add multiple photos and elements on a layout without it appearing cluttered. My scrapbooking is elegant and stylish with clean lines, lots of color with a bit of fun and humor thrown in! We know how to have a laugh in our family, and that is extended into my layouts. I hope in many years that my family can look through our albums and laugh as we remember the fun things we did.

My work has been published in Scrapbooking Memories, the Australian edition of Creating Keepsakes, My Reflections magazine, Paper Crafting with Photos (a Paper Crafts publication), Stamping and Papercraft magazine, Australian Papercrafts as well as several ideas books and special interest magazines in Australia. I have had my projects displayed at several CHA trade shows (in the Maya Road, Paper Salon, Piggy Tales and Urban Lily booths) and a recent National Stationery Show in the USA."

Immediately I sprinted to my basement room (hee hee, the advantage of having a scrapbook store I guess) and grabbed one LOVE album for myself.
