Shipping & Handling Charges

My fellow scrapbookers,

Ah finally, internet services a bit better...but still slow.....

Anyway, on to the subject above. I have had questions being asked about the high cost of shipping within Malaysia. We do our very best to charge ACTUAL shipping plus a few bucks extra for insurance (charged by the local postal service) + cost of packing materials to ensure you receive your products in perfect condition. Also, I tend to use Pos Laju within Malaysia because I have had so many items missing when I use the normal postal service, don't know why the postal people want to "hold on" to scrapbook stuff when they don't know what scrapbooking is....If upon checkout the postal service turns up too high, do see if I am online (valerie.gan@gmail.com) and I will see if the actual turns up lower, so I can send you an adjusted invoice. Alternatively, if you have paid, I would be more than willing to give store credit for future purchases if postage ends up lower.

If you prefer to pick up your packages, I am located in Sg. Long which is a suburb close to Kajang town. Do email me privately for that bc obviously we don't want kidnappers or thieves hounding me..ha ha...but then these days nothing is 100% safe....

So I hope I have answered everyone....sorry if there is a slight delay in emails lately, I am nearly always on BUT for the earthquake....so until then, adios...

A Short Trip

The haze over in Malaysia had been so bad, so we decided to pack Bryant up for a trip to the highlands! It was awesome, Bryant stayed from Tuesday to Sunday with his grandma, the first time he was away from me for more than a day!! 5000 feet up and no more haze!

On the website, the integration is finally complete! But I have got to still figure out how to upload stuff...so we will schedule an appointment for training sometime this week! If you go to www.scrap-n-crop.com, its up but nothing loaded yet!!!

Gypsy Look

I searched for the Gypsy look online..this is what I got from Wikepedia

The Roma People (singular Rom; sometimes Rroma, Rrom), sometimes "Romany Folk" in the British Isles, often referred to as Gypsies (or Gipsies), are a heterogeneous ethnic group who live primarily in Southern and Eastern Europe, Western Asia, Latin America, the southern part of the United States and the Middle East. They are believed to have originated mostly from the Punjab and Rajasthan regions of India. They began their migration to Europe and North Africa via the Iranian plateau around 1050[17].
Traditionally most Roma spoke
Romani (Romany), an Indo-Aryan language. Today, however, most Roma speak the dominant language of their region of residence.

The Gypsy Look is in!!! Its all the rage now in scrapbooking so go ahead...adorn your pages with our newly brought in sequins and butterfly trims!!!

Being Grateful

Cally thought me something today! Bryant is here to teach us to be grateful for what we have...so if we ever feel unhappy about our weight, or that nose or that flab....at least we should be grateful for what we have!!!

Anyway, I am planning to also put up some of Bryant pages that I made....I have not however figured how to photograph a 12x12...so if anyone can help....

And as to progress on the website, we are finalising some items with the designer this Saturday...imagine, having to explain to the designers and the web-shaper guys what scrapbooking is all about!!! Wait till I get the wives addicted!!!

My First Blog

Saturday, September 9 2006

Never really thought I was the "blogging" kind, though everyone seems to be doing this and what better way to journal everything here...its really cool!

Here goes, started out with my first major order for my soon to be online scrapbook store. www.scrap-n-crop.com. Went through the ground work with the web designer last Wednesday and I cant wait to see what his samples will be like!!! Of course in Malaysia no one knows what scrapbooking is all about so I dutifully lugged a big paper bag of what scrapbooking stuff in a nutshell is!

Anyway, it took me one whole afternoon to browse the catalogues of 2 major scrapbooking brands, I ordered from one and paid, saved another in the cart (have got to decide what I really need for starters as I went overboard!)

I started scrapbooking right after my son Bryant was born, 3 years ago on May the 12th 2003. He was born with severe brain injury and I was told by doctors that he would not live long. So I created this journals of him with poems and photos for keepsakes. Of course then I didnt know what acid free was and used gift wrapping papers for my first scrapbook! I found out what scrapbooking was later by chance and from then needless to say I was addicted!

Anyway, here is a photo of Bryant!

Bryant is cortically blind, deaf and can't swallow. He is spastic quadripelgic and feeds via a tube through his stomach! He us a darling and I have learnt so much from him! Well, its time to feed him, so until I write again tomorrow!
